Birdeye alternative for developers and agencies
If you need Birdeye’s review data inside your own product or client dashboards, a Birdeye alternative built as infrastructure is cheaper to evaluate. Prisma is one API to read and reply to reviews on Google, the App Store, Google Play, Judge.me and Trustpilot, with Yelp, Tripadvisor and other platforms in beta, priced per connected location: 2 locations free, then plans from €49 a month. Birdeye is a full customer-experience suite sold by quote. Choose Birdeye if you want the suite. Choose Prisma if you only want the reviews layer.
Suite vs infrastructure: two different products
Birdeye and Prisma answer different questions.
- Birdeye answers “how do my store managers handle reputation, listings, messaging and surveys from one place?” It ships a dashboard, AI agents and a team that onboards you.
- Prisma answers “how does my code get every review from my locations and apps, in one format, and post replies?” It ships an API key, docs and webhooks.
Most people searching for a Birdeye alternative fall into one of three groups: developers asked to “get our reviews into the app”, agencies managing reviews for many clients, and SaaS teams adding a reviews module. All three need the data, not another dashboard.
Birdeye pricing: what it costs and why it isn’t published
Birdeye’s pricing page has no figures. You fill in a form with your number of locations (bands from 1-3 up to 1000+) and talk to sales. The pitch is “one platform, one contract”.
Why the quote model? A suite’s price depends on modules, locations, contract term and negotiation. One public number wouldn’t fit a 3-location clinic and a 900-location retailer at the same time. Third-party estimates of Birdeye’s price circulate online, but none come from Birdeye, so we don’t repeat them here.
What this means for you: you can’t know the cost of a Birdeye-based integration until after a sales conversation. With Prisma you can: 2 locations free, then plans from €49 a month for 10 locations, all on the public pricing page.

What Prisma doesn’t do
Be clear before switching. Prisma does not:
- send review requests by SMS or email,
- manage listings (name, hours, address) across directories,
- run surveys, ads or a messaging inbox,
- provide a ready-made dashboard for non-technical staff,
- read reviews of businesses you don’t own or manage.
If any of these is a must-have, Birdeye or a similar suite is the better choice.
When to choose each
Choose Birdeye if:
- your buyers are operations or marketing teams who want a finished tool,
- you need listings, messaging and reviews from one vendor,
- you want a vendor team to implement and support it.
Choose Prisma if:
- you are building reviews into your own product or client portal,
- you are an agency and want your own brand on the reporting (see Prisma for agencies),
- you run many locations and want the data in your warehouse (see Prisma for multi-location brands),
- you want to know the price before you start.

What the reviews layer looks like in code
Once a location is connected, one call returns its reviews in the normalized format, and one call posts a reply:
curl "https://api.prismareviews.com/v1/reviews?location_id=loc_123&since=2026-10-01T00:00:00Z" \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $PRISMA_API_KEY"const res = await fetch(
"https://api.prismareviews.com/v1/reviews?location_id=loc_123&since=2026-10-01T00:00:00Z",
{ headers: { Authorization: `Bearer ${process.env.PRISMA_API_KEY}` } }
);
const { data, next_cursor } = await res.json();import os, requests
r = requests.post(
"https://api.prismareviews.com/v1/reviews/rev_789/reply",
headers={"Authorization": f"Bearer {os.environ['PRISMA_API_KEY']}"},
json={"text": "Thanks, Laura. Glad the new booking flow worked for you."},
)
print(r.status_code) # 202, reply queued for publishingEvery review has the same fields whatever the platform: id, platform, location_id, rating, title, text, author, language, created_at, updated_at, reply and url. Test keys (pk_test_…) return sample data for every platform, so you can build before connecting a real location.
Migrate from Birdeye to Prisma in 6 steps
- Export what you have. Keep a copy of your historical reviews and replies from Birdeye.
- Get a Prisma API key. Create a free account and confirm your email: your live and test keys are in the dashboard. The test key works right away, so you can build against sample data before you connect live locations.
- Connect each location with
POST /v1/connections: Google Business Profile and Trustpilot by OAuth as an owner or manager, App Store with an App Store Connect API key, Google Play by inviting Prisma’s service account in Play Console. - Backfill.
GET /v1/reviews?location_id=…&since=…returns history in the normalized format. Google Play’s API only returns the last 7 days, so Prisma keeps Play history from the day you connect. - Subscribe to webhooks (
review.created,review.updated,reply.published,reply.failed) and point your app at them. - Run in parallel for one billing cycle, compare counts per location, then cancel the Birdeye modules you no longer use.
If you already call the Birdeye API, only the reviews calls change. Start with the quickstart.
FAQ
How much does Birdeye cost?
Birdeye doesn’t publish prices. Its pricing page asks for your number of locations and contact details, and quotes one platform under one contract.
Is Prisma a full Birdeye replacement?
No. Prisma replaces the reviews layer: reading and replying through an API. Listings, messaging, surveys and SMS review requests stay out of scope.
Can agencies white-label Prisma?
Prisma is an API, so you build the interface your clients see and put your brand on it. Prisma has no client-facing dashboard of its own.
Which review platforms does Prisma support?
Google Business Profile, the App Store, Google Play, Judge.me and Trustpilot (beta) with replies through each platform’s official API. Yelp, Tripadvisor, Booking.com, Yotpo, REVIEWS.io and G2 are read only, in beta: they offer no reply API to third parties, so each review comes with a link to answer it on the platform. See all integrations.
Do I need my own Google Cloud project for the Google Business Profile API?
No. Prisma uses its own Google Cloud project. You sign in with Google as an owner or manager of the location and Prisma does the rest.
