ReviewHook alternative with webhooks and a public price

ReviewHook and Prisma solve the same problem the same way: one API to read and reply to the reviews of businesses and apps you own, connected with owner access, in one JSON format. The differences are in what ships today. Prisma publishes its pricing (2 locations free, then plans from €49 a month), sends signed webhooks for new reviews, covers Judge.me and Trustpilot, and reads Yelp, Tripadvisor and Booking.com reviews with a link to answer each one on the platform. ReviewHook is free during its beta, with paid pricing still unannounced.

Webhooks: the part that saves you a cron job

A reviews integration lives or dies on “tell me when something new arrives”. Without webhooks you poll every location on a timer and diff the results yourself. Prisma does that on its side and sends a signed event to your endpoint:

cURL
curl -X POST https://api.prismareviews.com/v1/webhooks \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $PRISMA_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"url": "https://yourapp.com/webhooks/prisma", "events": ["review.created", "reply.failed"]}'

Each event carries an HMAC signature you verify before trusting it. See webhooks.

Platforms without a reply API

Yelp, Tripadvisor, Booking.com, Yotpo, REVIEWS.io and G2 don’t let third parties post replies. Prisma still reads those reviews into the same feed and JSON format, and each one includes a url to answer it on the platform. A reply call there returns 422 reply_not_supported, so your code knows which reviews to answer off-API. You see every review in one place, instead of a gap for the platforms hotels and restaurants care about most.

A price you can plan around

A free beta is a good way to try an API. It’s harder to build a product on, because you don’t know the price after launch. Prisma’s pricing is fixed by connected locations, with unlimited reviews and API calls: Beam is €49 a month for 10 locations, Spectrum €149 for 50, Aurora €499 for 200. Monthly billing, or 20% off yearly.

Where ReviewHook is a good fit

ReviewHook is free while in beta, has a clean single schema, a read-only public key for frontends, and G2 already live. If you only need app store and Google reviews for a side project, it’s worth a look.

When to choose Prisma

Choose Prisma if you need webhooks, Judge.me or Trustpilot, reviews from the hospitality platforms (Yelp, Tripadvisor, Booking.com) in the same feed, test keys with sample data, or a published price for your business case. Start with the quickstart, or see every option on the comparisons page.
