Reviews API: one REST API for every review platform
A reviews API returns customer reviews as structured data: rating, text, author, date and the owner’s reply, in JSON, so your software can read them, store them, alert on them and, where the platform allows it, publish replies. Every platform has its own, with its own authentication, limits and field names. Prisma is a unified reviews API: one key, one JSON format and one webhook for 32 platforms, from Google and the app stores to Trustpilot, Yelp, Tripadvisor, G2 and Shopify review apps.
2 locations free. Test keys return sample reviews from all 32 platforms.
The three ways to get review data by API
| Route | What you get | Who it suits | The catch |
|---|---|---|---|
| The platform’s official API (Google Business Profile, App Store Connect, Google Play Developer API, Trustpilot, Judge.me…) | All reviews of accounts you own, often with replies | One platform, your own locations, time to integrate | Each one needs its own approval, auth flow, quota handling and data model. Google’s needs a 60-day-old verified profile; Trustpilot’s is a paid add-on; Yelp’s public API returns 3 excerpts |
| Scrapers and SERP APIs (SerpApi, Outscraper, Apify, DataForSEO) | Public reviews of any listing, at volume | Market research, lead generation, competitor monitoring | No replies, no ownership check, pay per request, data you may not be allowed to store. See Google reviews API vs scraper |
| A unified reviews API (Prisma) | Your own reviews from 32 platforms in one format, replies where the platform allows them, webhooks for every platform | Products, SaaS and agencies that need more than one platform | Only your own listings and accounts; some platforms are read only or waiting for approval |

What Prisma’s reviews API returns
Every review, from any platform, has the same fields:
{
"id": "rev_01HF3K",
"platform": "google_play",
"location_id": "loc_8f2a",
"rating": 2,
"title": "Crashes on start",
"text": "Since the last update the app closes on launch.",
"author": "Daniel R.",
"language": "en",
"created_at": "2026-10-14T19:02:11Z",
"reply": null,
"url": "https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.acme.app"
}- Read:
GET /v1/reviewswith filters by platform, location, rating, date and whether a reply exists. History is kept from the day you connect. - Reply:
POST /v1/reviews/{id}/replypublishes the text you send through the platform’s official API and returnsqueued; areply.publishedorreply.failedwebhook tells you how it went. Read-only platforms return422 reply_not_supportedand aurlto answer there. - Webhooks:
review.created,review.updated,reply.published,reply.failedandconnection.updated, signed with HMAC, for every platform, even those with no webhooks of their own. Details on review webhooks. - Connect: the account owner connects with the platform’s own sign-in (OAuth), its API credentials, or the public page of the business. Prisma never asks for a password and never reads listings you don’t own.

Platforms
| Replies by API | Read only (link to answer on the platform) |
|---|---|
| App Store, Google Play, Judge.me, Trusted Shops, eKomi today; Google Business Profile, Trustpilot and eBay as soon as each platform approves Prisma’s access | Yelp, Tripadvisor, Booking.com, Google Maps, Yotpo, REVIEWS.io, G2, Capterra, Steam, Okendo, Feefo, Loox, ProvenExpert, Shopper Approved, WordPress.org, Salesforce AppExchange, Facebook, OpenTable, DoorDash, Checkatrade, Avvo, Apartments.com; Etsy and Angi coming soon |
Google is the special case most people search for: public Google reviews come through Google Maps today (read only), and the Google Business Profile API, with every review and replies, opens once Google approves Prisma’s access. The options are compared on Google reviews API.
Who uses a unified reviews API
- SaaS products that want their users’ reviews inside the product: CRMs, POS, booking and support tools. Users connect their own accounts; you get one format.
- Agencies managing reviews for many clients, white label, with one key per client.
- Multi-location businesses that want every location’s reviews, on every platform, in one feed.
- Developers who would rather not maintain seven Google APIs, Apple’s JWT signing and Play’s monthly reports themselves. The lessons from building those integrations are in Review platform APIs: lessons from integrating 25 of them.

FAQ
What is a reviews API?
An HTTP interface that returns customer reviews (rating, text, author, date, reply) as structured data, so software can read, store and act on them and, where the platform allows it, publish replies. Each platform has its own; a unified reviews API like Prisma puts many of them behind one key and one JSON format.
Is there a free reviews API?
Most official platform APIs are free but gated: approvals, paid plans or owner-only access. Prisma’s Spark plan is free for 2 connected locations on the platforms with official APIs, and test keys return sample reviews from every platform without connecting anything.
Can a reviews API reply to reviews?
Only where the platform’s official API allows it, and only for the account that owns the reviews. Through Prisma that is the App Store, Google Play, Judge.me, Trusted Shops and eKomi today, with Google Business Profile, Trustpilot and eBay waiting for each platform’s approval. Prisma publishes the reply you send; it never writes one.
Does a reviews API return reviews of competitors?
Official owner APIs don’t, and neither does Prisma: it only reads listings and accounts you own or manage. Public-data APIs such as Google Places return a few reviews of any place (5 on Google). Scrapers return more, at a different legal and technical risk.
One reviews API. 32 platforms. One JSON.
