Healthcare reviews API: Google, Healthgrades, Vitals and Facebook for clinics and practices
Prisma is a healthcare reviews API: one REST API that reads the reviews of the clinics and medical practices you own or manage, from every platform that matters to them, in one JSON shape, with a signed webhook on every new review. Built for clinic groups, dental and veterinary chains, practice-management software and healthcare marketing agencies.
2 locations free. Test keys return sample reviews from every platform. No card, no sales call.
Why clinics and medical practices need an API, not six integrations
- Healthgrades and Vitals have no API; the reviews only exist on each doctor’s profile page.
- Google reviews need an approved Business Profile API project per organisation.
- Replies in healthcare must never confirm that someone is a patient, so automated replies are a liability without a human step.
Prisma measured all of this when it integrated the platforms; the per-platform rules are in the State of Review Platform APIs 2026.
The platforms, and what each one allows
| Platform | Reply by API | Connects with | Status in Prisma |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google Business Profile | Yes, once the platform approves Prisma’s access | OAuth sign-in by the owner | Coming soon, waiting for the platform’s API approval |
| Healthgrades | No: the platform has no reply API; each review links to the page where you answer | The public page address, no login shared | Beta |
| Vitals | No: the platform has no reply API; each review links to the page where you answer | The public page address, no login shared | Beta |
| No: the platform has no reply API; each review links to the page where you answer | The public page address, no login shared | Live | |
| Yelp | No: the platform has no reply API; each review links to the page where you answer | The public page address, no login shared | Live |
Google Business Profile will join as soon as each platform approves Prisma’s access. Everywhere else the review comes with its URL and you answer on the platform.
What teams build with it
- A per-provider and per-location review feed inside the practice-management system.
- Same-day alerts for reviews under 4 stars so the office manager can call the patient.
- A compliant reply flow: templated or AI-drafted text, reviewed by a human, published on Google by API; everything else answered on the platform with the link Prisma returns.
One call, every platform
curl "https://api.prismareviews.com/v1/reviews?platform=healthgrades&has_reply=false&since=2026-10-01" \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $PRISMA_API_KEY"Every review comes back with the same fields whatever the platform: id, platform, location_id, rating (always out of 5), title, text, author, language, created_at, reply and url. This call lists the Google Business Profile reviews since 1 October that nobody has answered yet; drop the platform filter and you get every platform in one list, newest first. Register a webhook with POST /v1/webhooks to receive review.created the moment a new one is synced; the webhooks reference has the payload and the signature check.
Honest limits
- Prisma reads reviews of businesses you own or manage. It is not a scraper for competitors’ reviews.
- On platforms without a reply API, Prisma can’t post for you; it returns the link and the existing reply.
- Public-page platforms are read on a schedule (every 6 to 24 hours depending on the plan), not in real time; see how often Prisma checks.
- Prisma never writes replies. Your team or your own AI writes them; Prisma publishes the exact text you approve.
FAQ
Is there a Healthgrades or Vitals API?
No. Neither publishes a reviews API. Prisma reads the public reviews on the provider profiles you manage, read-only, and returns them in the same JSON as Google.
Does Prisma write replies to patient reviews?
No. Prisma never writes a reply. Your team or your own AI drafts it, a person approves it, and Prisma publishes exactly that text where the platform allows it. On Healthgrades, Vitals, Facebook and Yelp you answer on the platform.
Can one API key cover many practices?
Yes. Connect each location (one profile per provider or clinic) under one account; plans are priced per connected location, with 2 free.
Every review of every healthcare, one JSON.
