What the checker shows

The App Store keeps ratings per country, so choose the country you care about. Google Play shows one rating for the app worldwide; the country changes which reviews you see.

Get your own app’s reviews by API

The checker shows a snapshot of public data for any app. If the app is yours, the App Store reviews API and Google Play reviews API pages explain how Prisma reads every review of your apps through App Store Connect and the Google Play Developer API, in the same JSON as 37 other review platforms, with webhooks for new reviews and replies published through the stores’ official APIs. The reply text is always yours: Prisma doesn’t write replies.

Frequently asked questions

How does the app rating checker work?

Enter an App Store or Google Play link, an app id or an app name. The checker reads the app’s public store page and public reviews feed, the same data anyone sees in the store, and shows the average rating, the number of ratings, how many ratings each star level has and the 10 newest reviews. No account or sign-up is needed.

Why is the App Store rating different in another country?

Apple keeps ratings and reviews per country (storefront), so the same app can have a different average and count in the United States and in the United Kingdom. Pick the country in the checker. Google Play shows one rating for the app; the country there changes which reviews you see.

How fresh is the data?

Each result is read from the store when someone first checks that app and country, then kept for up to 24 hours. The time it was read is shown under the result.

Which reviews does it show?

The 10 most recent public reviews the store returns for that country. On Google Play they are English-language reviews. Older reviews and full history are not part of the free checker.

Can I get all the reviews of my own app by API?

Yes, with Prisma. For apps you own, Prisma connects to App Store Connect and the Google Play Developer API, returns every review in one JSON format with webhooks for new ones, and publishes the reply you write through each store’s official API. Google Play’s API only returns the last 7 days of reviews, so Prisma keeps the history from the day you connect. The free Spark plan covers 2 locations (an app in one store is one location).

Can I check apps that are not mine?

Yes, the checker works for any app listed publicly in the App Store or Google Play. The Prisma API is different: it only reads reviews of apps you own and connect.

Does the checker use AI?

No. It shows the rating, counts and reviews exactly as the store publishes them. Prisma does not use AI to summarize, score or write anything.

Is there a limit?

The checker is free. To keep it available for everyone, each network can make a limited number of new lookups per minute; results already checked load from the cache.
