Law firm reviews API: Google, Avvo, Yelp, Facebook and BBB in one feed
Prisma is a law firm reviews API: one REST API that reads the reviews of the law firms you own or manage, from every platform that matters to them, in one JSON shape, with a signed webhook on every new review. Built for multi-office firms, legal marketing agencies and legal practice-management software.
2 locations free. Test keys return sample reviews from every platform. No card, no sales call.
Why law firms need an API, not six integrations
- Avvo has no reviews API; client reviews and the lawyer’s response only exist on the profile page.
- BBB reviews are separate from BBB complaints and have no API either.
- Google is the only platform in the list with a reply API, and it requires an approved project.
Prisma measured all of this when it integrated the platforms; the per-platform rules are in the State of Review Platform APIs 2026.
The platforms, and what each one allows
| Platform | Reply by API | Connects with | Status in Prisma |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google Business Profile | Yes, once the platform approves Prisma’s access | OAuth sign-in by the owner | Coming soon, waiting for the platform’s API approval |
| Avvo | No: the platform has no reply API; each review links to the page where you answer | The public page address, no login shared | Beta |
| Yelp | No: the platform has no reply API; each review links to the page where you answer | The public page address, no login shared | Live |
| No: the platform has no reply API; each review links to the page where you answer | The public page address, no login shared | Live | |
| BBB | No: the platform has no reply API; each review links to the page where you answer | The public page address, no login shared | Beta |
Google Business Profile will join as soon as each platform approves Prisma’s access. Everywhere else the review comes with its URL and you answer on the platform.
What teams build with it
- A review feed per attorney and per office, with the lawyer’s existing responses included.
- Alerts to the managing partner on any review under 4 stars, within the hour.
- A monthly report per practice area across Google, Avvo and Yelp.
One call, every platform
curl "https://api.prismareviews.com/v1/reviews?platform=avvo&has_reply=false&since=2026-10-01" \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $PRISMA_API_KEY"Every review comes back with the same fields whatever the platform: id, platform, location_id, rating (always out of 5), title, text, author, language, created_at, reply and url. This call lists the Google Business Profile reviews since 1 October that nobody has answered yet; drop the platform filter and you get every platform in one list, newest first. Register a webhook with POST /v1/webhooks to receive review.created the moment a new one is synced; the webhooks reference has the payload and the signature check.
Honest limits
- Prisma reads reviews of businesses you own or manage. It is not a scraper for competitors’ reviews.
- On platforms without a reply API, Prisma can’t post for you; it returns the link and the existing reply.
- Public-page platforms are read on a schedule (every 6 to 24 hours depending on the plan), not in real time; see how often Prisma checks.
- Prisma never writes replies. Your team or your own AI writes them; Prisma publishes the exact text you approve.
FAQ
Is there an Avvo API for reviews?
No. Prisma reads the public reviews on the attorney profiles you manage and returns them read-only, with the lawyer’s response in the reply field.
Can I reply to Google reviews of my firm by API?
Yes, through Google Business Profile’s official API, once Google approves Prisma’s access. Until then Google reviews are read from the Google Maps listing, read-only.
Does this cover BBB complaints?
No. Prisma returns BBB customer reviews, not complaints, which BBB handles separately.
