Hotel reviews API: Booking.com, Tripadvisor, Expedia, Airbnb and Google in one feed
Prisma is a hotel reviews API: one REST API that reads the reviews of the hotels and vacation rentals you own or manage, from every platform that matters to them, in one JSON shape, with a signed webhook on every new review. Built for hotel groups, property managers, PMS and revenue-management software, and the agencies that run reputation for them.
2 locations free. Test keys return sample reviews from every platform. No card, no sales call.
Why hotels and vacation rentals need an API, not six integrations
- Booking.com paused new connectivity partners, so there is no direct API for guest reviews unless you were already in.
- Tripadvisor’s Content API returns a handful of reviews for display, not the owner’s feed.
- Airbnb and Expedia have no public reviews API at all; Vrbo lives inside Expedia.
- Google wants an approved Business Profile project before it returns a single review.
Prisma measured all of this when it integrated the platforms; the per-platform rules are in the State of Review Platform APIs 2026.
The platforms, and what each one allows
| Platform | Reply by API | Connects with | Status in Prisma |
|---|---|---|---|
| Booking.com | From the public page, no (each review links to the Extranet); yes through Hostaway | The public page address, no login shared | Beta |
| Tripadvisor | No: the platform has no reply API; each review links to the page where you answer | The public page address, no login shared | Beta |
| Expedia | No: the platform has no reply API; each review links to the page where you answer | The public page address, no login shared | Beta |
| Airbnb | From the public page, no (each review links to the listing); yes through Hostaway | The public page address, no login shared | Beta |
| Hostaway (Airbnb, Booking.com, Vrbo) | Yes, through Hostaway’s official API, free on every plan | API key or token from the owner’s account | Beta |
| Google Business Profile | Yes, once the platform approves Prisma’s access | OAuth sign-in by the owner | Coming soon, waiting for the platform’s API approval |
| No: the platform has no reply API; each review links to the page where you answer | The public page address, no login shared | Live | |
| Yelp | No: the platform has no reply API; each review links to the page where you answer | The public page address, no login shared | Live |
Replies go out by API on Hostaway. Google Business Profile will join as soon as each platform approves Prisma’s access. Everywhere else the review comes with its URL and you answer on the platform.
What teams build with it
- A guest-review feed per property, merged across platforms, inside your PMS or portal.
- Alerts to the front desk or the general manager when a review under 7/10 arrives on any platform.
- Weekly reports per property and per brand, with ratings normalised to 5 stars (Booking and Expedia score out of 10).
One call, every platform
curl "https://api.prismareviews.com/v1/reviews?platform=booking&has_reply=false&since=2026-10-01" \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $PRISMA_API_KEY"Every review comes back with the same fields whatever the platform: id, platform, location_id, rating (always out of 5), title, text, author, language, created_at, reply and url. This call lists the Booking.com reviews since 1 October that nobody has answered yet; drop the platform filter and you get every platform in one list, newest first. Register a webhook with POST /v1/webhooks to receive review.created the moment a new one is synced; the webhooks reference has the payload and the signature check.
Honest limits
- Prisma reads reviews of businesses you own or manage. It is not a scraper for competitors’ reviews.
- On platforms without a reply API, Prisma can’t post for you; it returns the link and the existing reply.
- Public-page platforms are read on a schedule (every 6 to 24 hours depending on the plan), not in real time; see how often Prisma checks.
- Prisma never writes replies. Your team or your own AI writes them; Prisma publishes the exact text you approve.
FAQ
Is there a Booking.com reviews API?
Not for new third parties: Booking.com paused onboarding of new connectivity partners. Prisma reads the public guest reviews of properties you own from the property page, read-only, and returns them in the same JSON as every other platform. Properties managed in Hostaway can read and reply to Airbnb, Booking.com and Vrbo reviews through the Hostaway connection.
Can I reply to Tripadvisor or Airbnb reviews by API?
Airbnb, yes, if your rentals are on Hostaway: connect it and Prisma publishes your response on Airbnb, Booking.com or Vrbo through Hostaway’s official API (how it works). Tripadvisor, no: it has no reply API for third parties, so Prisma returns each review with its URL and you answer on Tripadvisor. Google Business Profile replies open once Google approves Prisma’s access.
How are 10-point scores handled?
Booking.com and Expedia scores are returned as rating on a 5-star scale (the score halved) and the original score stays available, so one dashboard works for every platform.
